A resident living in the 100 block of Saratoga Way, N.E., told Vienna police on May 21 at 10:26 a.m that a man had come to her door selling magazine subscriptions.
She gave him a check for payment and was given a receipt, but later found information online that the company was a scam. The resident notified her bank and canceled the check.
