MAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED SEXUAL BATTERY OF CHILD: Fairfax County police detectives with the Major Crimes Bureau’s Child Abuse Squad on June 27 arrested a 47-year-old Merrifield man in connection with the alleged sexual battery of a 6-year-old victim in Merrifield.
Just after 7 p.m., police dispatched officers to a playground in the 7300 block of Arlington Boulevard for the report of a man who allegedly had touched a juvenile victim unlawfully. Patrol officers quickly locate the man and took him into custody.
Authorities have charged Victor Villalobos, 47, with aggravated sexual battery of a juvenile under age 13. Villalobos is being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond.
DETECTIVES SEEKING MORE VICTIMS OF ALLEGED ONLINE PREDATOR: Detectives with the Fairfax County Police Department’s Child Exploitation Unit are seeking the community’s assistance in investigating potential victims of an alleged online predator.
On June 7 around 6:52 p.m., detectives from McLean District Station received a community tip regarding a man’s alleged inappropriate communication with an underage victim via an Internet platform. Police later located the suspect in Tysons, where he allegedly intended to meet and potentially engage in sexual acts with the victim.
Detectives arrested Gerry Frank Burde, 41, of Herndon, and collected evidence related to the incident. Police took Burde to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where authorities charged him with use of a communications system to solicit a minor, attempted forcible intercourse with a victim under 13 years old and indecent liberties with a child under 15.
Detectives believe Burde may have targeted other victims through direct contact or on platforms such as Snapchat (username: drunkslovepunch) or Whisper (username: Tempo_Ex). Police urge anyone who has interacted with Burde to contact detectives at (703) 246-7800, option 6.
FAIRFAX COUNTY POLICE SEEKING 5 ROBBERS WHO STOLE MORE THAN $100,000 WORTH OF ITEMS IN TYSONS: Fairfax County police detectives are investigating a retail-theft crew who allegedly stole more than $100,000 worth of merchandise from a store at Tysons Galleria June 25 and sprayed a fire extinguisher at a security worker to get away.
Detectives were alerted at 3:42 p.m. a commercial robbery at a high-end retail store in the 2000 block of International Drive in Tysons. Two male and three female suspects reportedly entered the store and grabbed numerous handbags, police said.
One male suspect allegedly discharged a fire extinguisher at the loss-prevention employee to facilitate the suspect’s fleeing from the store. No injuries were sustained during the robbery, authorities said.
The group left in a white Alfa Romeo with an unknown suspect driving. Detectives think the suspects are using the same vehicle with stolen or altered license plates.
VIENNA POLICE ARREST MAN FOR PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS, INDECENT EXPOSURE: A Vienna police officer on June 21 at 10:55 p.m. observed a man exit a ride-share vehicle, stumble onto the grounds at Vienna Elementary School and begin urinating in public, police said.
Upon interacting with the man, the officer detected signs of intoxication and arrested him.
Police transported the 24-year-old Manassas man to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where authorities charged him with indecent exposure and being drunk in public.
MULTIPLE VEHICLES BROKEN INTO IN VIENNA, ITEMS TAKEN FROM SOME: Vienna police during a recent 24-hour period investigated break-ins of multiple vehicles, some of which resulted in thefts of credit cards, cash and a driver’s license.
• One incident occurred in the 700 block of Meadow Lane, S.W., between June 22 at 5 p.m. and June 23 at 12:45 p.m. A resident reported someone had rummaged through his vehicle, stolen his credit card and made several unauthorized purchases using the stolen card.
• Another break-in took place in the 500 block of Adelman Circle, S.W., between June 22 at 11 p.m. and June 23 at 5:30 p.m. A resident reported someone had rummaged through his three vehicles and stolen U.S. currency, a credit card and a driver’s license.
• The third incident happened in the 500 block of Stephen Circle, S.W., on June 23 between midnight and 1:20 a.m. A resident told police someone had gone through his two locked vehicles, but nothing appeared to have been taken.
MAN REPORTS BEING ASSAULTED IN VIENNA; NO CHARGES FILED YET: A man told Vienna police on June 24 at 9:30 a.m. that another man had assaulted him during an argument over parking in the 300 block of Orchard Street, N.W.
Police advised the man of the warrant process if he decided to pursue charges.
VIENNA RESIDENT REPORTS SOMEONE BROKE HER VEHICLE’S REAR WINDOW: A resident living in the 100 block of Tapawingo Road, S.W., informed Vienna police on June 24 at 4:06 p.m. that someone had broken the back window of her vehicle while it was legally parked on the roadway.
VIENNA ANIMAL-CONTROL VEHICLE’S SIDE MIRROR DAMAGED BY PASSING VEHICLE: A town of Vienna animal-control vehicle was legally parked in the 300 block of Locust Street, S.E., on June 24 at 11:36 a.m. when another vehicle sideswiped it, damaging its side mirror, Vienna police said.
DRIVER CITED AFTER JUMPING CURB, STRIKING POLE’S SUPPORT BEAM IN VIENNA: A vehicle was pulling into a parking space in front of 137 Park Street, S.E., on June 25 at 9:22 a.m. when its driver accelerated, jumped the curb and struck the support beam of a pole.
Vienna police issued the driver a summons for reckless driving.
