MEN REPORTEDLY SCAM WOMAN OUT OF DEBIT CARD IN VIENNA, WITHDRAW MONEY: A resident deposited a check into the ATM at Bank of America, 235 Maple Ave., W., on July 5 at 1:05 p.m., Vienna police said.

Three men were in line behind her to use the machine and one of them allegedly scammed the woman, leading her to believe she made an error in her transaction and offering to assist her.

The woman accepted the assistance, gave him her card and she accessed her account again.

The woman did not realize the debit card the man gave back to her was not her own, police said. She later found the men had gone to several different locations and withdrawn money from her account.

VIENNA RESTAURANT EMPLOYEE TAKEN FRAUDULENT PHONE SALE: An employee at Thai Mom, 330 Maple Ave., W., told Vienna police on July 6 at 2:45 p.m. that a man and his juvenile son had entered the business’s back door and begun asking employees if they wanted to purchase an iPhone.

The employee paid for the phone and then realized it was a fraud. The man left the area in a vehicle with fictitious license plates, police said.

BIRDIE FOUND AT VIENNA COUNTRY CLUB: An employee at Westwood Country Club, 800 Maple Ave., E., on July l1 at 5:07 p.m. found a tagged parakeet in the golf-cart shed.

The parakeet was transported to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, Vienna police said.

VIENNA MAN, SON SEPARATE FOR EVENING AFTER SHOVING INCIDENT: A Vienna police officer responded July 4 at 7:03 p.m. to the report of a domestic assault between a resident and his adult son on Courthouse Road, S.W.

The resident reported an argument escalated when they both shoved each other.

The pair agreed to separate for the night to avoid further disputes.
