VIENNA TENANT-LANDLORD SCUFFLE RESULTS IN CHARGES FOR BOTH PARTIES: A Vienna police officer on June 29 at 8:43 p.m. served an emergency protective order on a woman in the 300 block of Lawyers Road, N.W., which had been obtained by her tenant.

At 11:54 p.m. that same night, the tenant reported her landlord allegedly had come into her area of the home and begun harassing her, police said.

The tenant reportedly assaulted the landlord, causing injury to her face and head, authorities said.

Rescue personnel responded to treat the landlord’s injuries, but she reportedly became combative with the officers and rescue personnel. Rescue workers transported the landlord to an area hospital by rescue personnel with an officer escorting them, as she allegedly continued to act aggressively.

Police arrested the tenant, a 61-year-old woman, and transported her to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where authorities charged her with malicious wounding.

Police obtained warrants for the landlord and served them to her the following day when she was released from the hospital. Police arrested the 65-year-old woman and took her to Adult Detention Center.

The landlord faces six felony counts of assault on a police officer, obstruction of justice and violation of an emergency protective order.

MAN TAKEN TO HOSPITAL AFTER ERRATIC BEHAVIOR AT MULTIPLE VIENNA HOMES: Residents at two houses in the 100 block of Melody Lane, S.W., informed Vienna police on July 1 at 3:38 p.m. that a man had been on their rear decks, pulling on their doors and attempting to enter the houses.

Officers searched the area for the man, but did not locate him.

Officers at 4:41 p.m. that same afternoon responded to an additional complaint in the 800 block of Cottage Street, S.W., regarding the man from the previous incidents, who allegedly had been approaching houses. Police located the man in the 700 block of Plum Street, S.W., where a resident was requesting the man leave the property.

Upon interacting with the man, police reportedly detected signs of both alcohol and narcotic impairment, police said. Rescue personnel responded to assess the man when he began complaining of pain.

Due to the level of intoxication, rescue workers transported the man to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.

MAN, 40, CHARGED WITH ASSAULTING OFFICER AFTER VIENNA PUB INCIDENT: Vienna police officers responded June 28 at 9:28 p.m. to the report of an intoxicated man threatening customers at Hawk & Griffin, 435 Maple Ave., W.

Upon the officers’ arrival, the man already had left the premises, but police located him nearby.

Police arrested the 40-year-old man with no fixed address and took him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. Authorities charged him with being drunk in public, providing false identification to a police officer and assaulting a police officer, and served him with an outstanding warrant from another jurisdiction.

He was held without bond.

VIENNA WOMAN, 41, FACES SIMPLE-ASSAULT CHARGES AFTER DINER DUST-UP: An employee at Carnegie Diner, 501 Maple Ave., W., told Vienna police on June 28 at 9:45 p.m. that a woman had entered the diner through the rear door and begun acting disorderly. The woman allegedly assaulted three employees while using racial slurs towards them, police said.

Police arrested the 41-year-old Vienna woman and transported her to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where authorities charged her with one count of simple assault and two counts of simple assault with bias. She was held without bond.

The woman also was banned from the diner and police advised her she would be arrested if she returned to the premises.

THIEF STEALS CREDIT, DEBIT CARDS FROM VEHICLE IN VIENNA: A local resident reported that someone entered his vehicle June 27 between 1 and 2:30 p.m. while it was parked in the parking lot at Navy Federal Credit Union, 820 Follin Lane, S.E., Vienna police said.

The thief stole several credit and debit cards from the wallets of the victim and his wife, and unsuccessfully attempted to use some of the cards to make unauthorized purchases, police said.

WOMAN BANNED FROM VIENNA CONVENIENCE STORE AFTER DISPUTE: An employee at Wawa, 465 Maple Ave., W., told Vienna police on June 30 at 1:53 p.m. that a woman allegedly was harassing customers and refusing to leave the store.

Officers spoke to the woman and, at the request of the management, trespassed her from the premises, police said.

POLICE SPEAK TO JUVENILE, PARENT AFTER RESIDENT REPORTS MISBEHAVIOR: A resident living in the 300 block of Park Street, N.E., told Vienna police on June 30 at 11:32 p.m. that juvenile boys had pounded on the residence’s door, then fled the area in a vehicle.

The juveniles allegedly returned to her home a short time later and pounded on the door again, tried the handle and then fled the area, police said.

The resident provided a tag number for their vehicle, which belonged to a resident on Patrick Street, S.W. An officer went to the home and spoke to one of the juveniles involved and his parent regarding the incident.

WOMAN REPORTS VEHICLE’S WINDOW SMASHED AT BUSINESS: An employee working at a business at 306 Maple Ave., W., told Vienna police that on July 1 between noon and 2:30 p.m. someone had smashed the rear window of her vehicle while it was parked in the parking lot.

Nothing appeared to have been taken from the vehicle, police said.

VEHICLE’S WINDOW DAMAGED AT VIENNA BUSINESS: A local resident informed Vienna police that ,on July 2 between 5 and 6 a.m., someone had broken her vehicle’s front passenger window at Orangetheory Fitness, 127 Maple Ave., W.

Nothing appeared to have been taken from the vehicle, police said.

2 DRIVERS INJURED, 1 CITED AFTER COLLISION IN VIENNA: A motorist was traveling eastbound on Maple Avenue, W., on June 24 at 3:15 p.m. when the vehicle was struck by another traveling northbound on Pleasant Street, S.W., and entering Maple Avenue, Vienna police said.

Rescue personnel transported both drivers to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Police issued the striking vehicle’s driver a summons charging failure to pay full time and attention.

MOTORIST INJURED AFTER REAR-END WRECK IN VIENNA: Two motorists were traveling westbound in the 200 block of Maple Avenue, E., on July 2 at 2:25 p.m. when one vehicle ran into the rear of the other, Vienna police said.

Rescue personnel transported the struck vehicle’s driver to an area hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.
