Mother Nature isn't heading into autumn just yet across Northern Virginia.

This week's thermometer could top out close to or even at 100 degrees by Wednesday [8/28], with the "danger of dehydration and heatstroke if outside for extended periods of time," according to the GazetteLeader's official weather partner, AccuWeather.

Other days throughout the week won't be quite as hot but still could be in the 90s.

The best chance of rain will come Monday. And while the central Pacific at the moment is quite active, the National Hurricane Center has nothing on the horizon in the Atlantic – for now.
