Woodleigh Chase, an Erickson Senior Living-managed community in Fairfax, hosted its grand opening March 14 with a ceremonial ribbon cutting and reception for residents, team members and community leaders.

Woodleigh Chase is the fourth Virginia location in Erickson Senior Living’s national network of continuing-care retirement communities.

“We are excited to bring the vibrant and engaging Erickson Senior Living lifestyle to the Fairfax area,” said executive director Will Nance. “In addition to offering spacious apartment homes and unsurpassed amenities, Woodleigh Chase will provide meaningful social connections for residents and create career opportunities in multiple disciplines for team members.”

Among the Erickson Senior Living corporate executive team members in attendance were chief operating officer Gregg Colon, chief sales and marketing officer Tom Neubauer, chief financial officer Christian Sweetser and chief development officer Sean Sands. National Senior Communities vice chair Stephanie Reel and executive director Scott Sawicki also attended the ceremony.

“We could not be prouder of what the Woodleigh Chase team and their home-office partners have accomplished in bringing to life the vision for this distinctive senior-living community in Fairfax,” said Alan Butler, chief executive officer of Erickson Senior Living. “The beautiful apartment homes, exceptional amenities and this ideal location provide an engaging lifestyle that residents will enjoy for years to come.”

Among local leaders in attendance: U.S. Rep. Gerald Connolly (D-11th), Fairfax County Supervisor James Walkinshaw (D-Braddock) and former Supervisor John Cook (R-Braddock).

New residents began moving into Woodleigh Chase on March 12.

“My wife Gayla and I are looking forward to our brand-new apartment home and beginning our next chapter at Woodleigh Chase,” said Patrick Cummins. “We were among the first to commit to living here, and from the ongoing personal treatment by the staff to all of the amenities, preparations have been beyond our expectations.”

Situated on a scenic 42-acre campus, the first phase of development includes the community’s 43,000-square-foot clubhouse, Emerson Square, and two independent-living residence buildings consisting of 260 one- and two-bedroom apartment homes.
