Apartment rents continue to push higher in Tysons, Merrifield

Both slightly trail Arlington, which is priciest in D.C. region according to Apartment List

Median apartment rents in Tysons for May were second highest in the metro area, according to new data, with prices posting both month-over-month and year-over-year increases.

With median prices of $2,365 for one-bedroom units and $2,835 for two bedrooms, Tysons trailed only Arlington ($2,395/$2,894) among the 32 sub-sectors of the Washington metropolitan area surveyed monthly by Apartment List.

Figures were reported May 30.

Merrifield was not far behind, with median rental prices of $2,293 and $2,818, respectively.

For Tysons, median rental rates in May were up 0.8 percent month over month and 4.2 percent year over year. In Merrifield, growth rates were 2.5 percent and 4.9 percent, respectively.
