The Washington-Liberty Generals (6-1, 2-1) were the lone Arlington football team to win in Friday night, Oct. 6 action.

The Generals bounced back from a double-overtime loss the week before with a 52-26 blowout road victory over the Marshall Statesmen in a Liberty District high-school contest.

For the Generals, senior quarterback Jon Bhojwani threw six touchdown passes to four different players and passed for more than 250 yards. Joseph Cordaro and John Malatesta each caught two TD passes.

The 52 points were a single-game season best for the high-scoring W-L team, which averages 42.4 points per game.

In other Liberty District games involving Arlington teams the night of Oct. 6, the Yorktown Patriots (4-3, 1-2) lost on the road to the undefeated McLean Highlanders, 7-3, and the winless Wakefield Warriors (0-6, 0-3) fell to the host Langley Saxons, 45-9.
