Three players from the district, region and state-champion Yorktown Patriots girls lacrosse team are Virginia High School League Class 6 first-team all-state selections for their performances during the 2024 season.
Senior attack Elizabeth LaPierre, junior midfielder Corinne Rigoli and freshman defender Mia DeFalco are those selections.
The trio helped the team compile a 21-1 record, including 20 straight wins to end the season. Yorktown was 9-0 in the playoff.
LaPierre had four goals and one assist in Yorktown’s 22-10 victory over Robinson in the state-championship match. Rigoli had three goals in the win, with an assist, and DeFalco netted one goal.
For the season, LaPierre scored 46 goals and had 22 assists. She finished her Yorktown career with 117 goals, 41 assists and 158 points. Rigoli scored 61 goals with 23 assists and score 134 points, in addition to winning 101 draw controls. DeFalco had three goals and two assists and gathered 39 ground balls.
For her career, Rigoli already has 219 draw controls. Yorktown coach Jenny Keimig anticipates she will finish her high-school career with more than 300 draw controls.
Those three players also made first-team all 6D North Region, with junior attack Mila Perez, junior midfielder Olivia Stafford and senior defender Riley Demory chosen second team. Stafford gathered 49 ground balls this season and caused 70 turnovers.
Perez had 51 assists this season.
