Three Yorktown boys lacrosse players chosen Class 6 all-state

Yorktown HIgh School senior defenseman Harry Larbalestier was chosen Class 6 second team all-state for his performance during hte 2024 season.

Three players from the Liberty District tournament-champion Yorktown Patriots were chosen to Virginia High School League’s Class 6 all-state teams for their performances during the 2024 spring season.

Senior attack Hudson Greene was chosen first team. Greene scored 57 goals, had 49 assists and 109 points this past spring. He finished his career as Yorktown’s all-time scoring leader in total points, goals and assists. His career point total was 300.

In addition, Greene was this past season’s Liberty District Player of the Year and was chosen first team all-6D North Region.

Chosen second-team all-state from Yorktown were senior defenseman Harry Larbalestier and senior goalie Hayden Whittington.

Larbalestier gathered 50 ground balls this past season, had 21 defensive takeaways, he scored one goal, had three assists and took seven shots on goal. Whittington made 170 saves in goal.

Larbalestier and Whittington also were chosen first-team all-district and all-region.

Greene will play in college at Bowdoin College and Larbalestier at Wesleyan University.

Yorktown finished with a 14-5 overall record this past season and reached the semifinals of the region tournament.

NOTE: Yorktown lacrosse players Riley Demory (U.S. Coast Guard Academy) and Dylan Lefton (Dickinson College) also will play in college.
