Yorktown High School graduate Torri Huske will be honored in Arlington for her achievements at the recent Summer Olympics.

The Arlington County government will welcome home and honor swimmer Torri Huske for her recent standout performance at the Summer Olympics in Paris during a 45-minute ceremony on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 3 p.m. at the Long Bridge Park pool.

Huske, a 2021 Yorktown High School graduate, won five medals at the Games. She won three relay medals (two golds and a silver) and in individual races won a gold and a silver.

Huske also was a standout swimmer at Yorktown, never losing an individual postseason tournament race in a district, region or state final during her high-school career, setting multiple records on different levels and leading the team to district, region and state championships. Huske now swims in college at Stanford University, where she is a standout, as well.

The Aug. 25 event also will be a fundraiser for the Arlington Food Assistance Center. Those attending are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to donate.

Huske is expected to sign a few autographs during the ceremony and perhaps speak briefly to the crowd.
