Four Arlington swim teams earn victories in week-three action

Overlee, Donaldson Run, Fort Myer among the winners

The Donaldson Run Thunderbolts (2-1) and Overlee Flying Fish (3-0) were winners the morning of June 29 in Northern Virginia Swimming League Division 1 action.

Overlee defeated host Old Keene Mill, 254-166, and Donaldson Run downed Highlands, 211.5-208.5.

For Overlee, double winners were Will Cravens, Holden Busen, Abigail Hartman, Samantha Bravery, Violet Mullen and McKinley Busen. Single winners were Brendan Finnerty, Charleigh Cravens, Keegan Murdock, James Parker, Claire Cocker, Frederick Papadopoulos, Billy Weber, Jay Young, Mary Pickens, Sia Nicholakos, Sully Portner, Evan Ingraham and Olivia Hartel.

For Donaldson Run, Rachel Conley, Christian Jacobs, Kate Edgerton, Caroline Baca, Ellie Wertzler and Avery Wishneff were double winners. Single winners were Hunter Simms, Theo Cahill, Mitchell Robinson, Mikey Maloney, Miles Ledford, Annie Madden, Pippa Chin-Fatt, Charlie Greenwood, Finley McDonnell, Nora Sherman and Micah Utz.

* The Arlington Forest Tigers (1-2) lost to 3-0 Camelot, 219-201 in a June 29 NVSL Division 9 meet.

Double winners for the Tigers were Anna Dansereau, Evan Dickey, Cole Klapmust, Mitchell Klapmust, Eli Martin, Jonah Mohr, Miler Mohr, Sophie-Lou Mohr and Natlie Sottile. Single winners were Kayla Bell, Callie Dowler, Helen Huggler, Peter Huggler, Claudia Kaczor and Damien Kaczor.

Martin set a team record in the boys 15-18 breaststroke (29.72).

* The Dominion Hills Thunder Ducks (1-2) lost to Canterbury Woods, 212-208, June 29 in NVSL Division 7 action.

Double-race winners for Dominion Hills were Andrew Aldonas and Louis LoGerfo. Single winners were Asher Langsdale, Allie Ervin, James Gallagher, Susie Richard, Juliet Schwartz, Zach Ervin, Emma Richard, Will Ryan and Beckett Langsdale. 

* The Fort Myer Squids (1-2) notched their first victory this summer on June 29, topping the Chantilly Highlands, 240-211, in a Colonial Swimming League White Division meet.

For Fort Myer, Alex Smith won three races and Aileen Kee, Diego Ramos, Zachary Berner and Clara McCarthy two each. Single winners were Paxton Nguyen Viet, Miles Wright, Presley Henderson, Claire Hystad, Caroline Lipscomb, Drew Loughay, Isa Maguire, Alman McCarthy and Bruce Troung.
  * By winning 24 individual races and 11 relays, the Arlington Knights of Columbus Holy Mackerels (2-1) routed the Burke Centre Stingers, 309-135, June 29 in a Red Division Colonial Swimming League meet.

For the Holy Mackerels, Jack Parker, Summer Springer and Zach Black were triple winners and Savigna Neely Martin, Aubrey Larson, Azmera Gebre and Mary Hecmanczuk were double winners. Single winners were William Silver, Ava Moore, Elizabeth Pilot, Edith Kuhlman, Sedona Springer, Will Coleman and Mimi Riccio.

Summer Springer set a team record in the girls 11-12 breaststroke (39.63) and Sedona Springer did the same in the 9-10 girls breast (44.15).
