Yorktown HIgh School graduate and star football player at the school recently was chosen to be inducted into the Ferrum College Sports Hall of Fame.

Former Yorktown High School standout quarterback Tim Reynolds recently was chosen to the Ferrum College Sports Hall of Fame for his performance with the Division III team during his football career in Ferrum, Va.

Reynolds played four seasons at Ferrum, graduating from the college in 2015. He was the starting quarterback on Ferrum’s 2012 USA South Conference championship team, earning first team all-conference and Offensive Player of the Year honors.

He also was chosen first team all-state in 2012 and was a finalist for the Touchdown Club of Richmond’s Willie Lanier Award.

Reynolds holds Ferrum football records for season and career touchdowns, and is listed among the top five for another 10 records. In 36 career games at Ferrum, Reynolds threw for 4,353 yards and 29 touchdowns and he ran for another 34 TDs.

After college, Reynolds began his coaching career in 2015, starting as an assistant with Yorktown under longtime and current head coach Bruce Hanson.

“He was a good athlete for us, a very smart quarterback, a great leader and was very positive in his approach,” Hanson said. “I remember he really carried us his senior season.”

One year after coaching at Yorktown, Reynolds entered the college coaching ranks at St. Andrews University as an assistant. He joined the football staff at Bridgewater College in 2022, helping lead the team to a 9-1 record.

Reynolds currently works as the offensive coordinator at Averett University in Danville. He also served as head coach and offensive coordinator for an all-star college football game called the Podyum Bowl the last three seasons, and was the offensive coordinator for another college all-star contest in 2019 and 2021.

In addition to coaching, Reynolds started “Real Talk Sundays” in 2020, which is an open discussion on life and the issues around the world. He also created and is a co-instructor for The Course Mind Body and Soul, which teaches self-motivation.

Ferrum will hold an induction ceremony that includes Reynolds the morning of Saturday, Oct. 26.

Reynolds also was a starter on the boys basketball team at Yorktown.
