Letter: Arlington residents need accounting of county legal fees

'Voters in this county are sooooo complacent.'

To the editor: As of this writing, it appears that the Arlington County government has spent $500,000 on outside legal fees for its defense of the Missing Middle zoning policy.

For what? Just what possible justification is there for blowing this money for lawyers? And if County Board members have this much authority to spend money, what else are they blowing money on right now?

The county manager needs to list, at a minimum, a synopsis of every lawsuit involving the county government since the start of 2023.

Voters in this county are sooooo complacent. Let the good times roll, they say.

But the good times are slowing down.
