Registration is set to begin July 6 for the 2023 Northern Virginia Senior Olympics (NVSO), which will present more than 70 events at 20-plus venues across the region.
“It’s a mammoth undertaking each year,” said Herb Levitan, who chairs the organizing body. “However, the NVSO committee and our very dedicated volunteers make it a rewarding endeavor for all involved.”
Registration runs through Aug. 24 and is only available online at www.nvso.us. The cost is $20 for unlimited events; a few categories (10-pin bowling, cycling, golf and orienteering) have additional fees.
Events added for 2023 include synchronized diving, disc golf, advanced Sudoku and par-3 golf.
Most events are grouped by gender and in 5- or 10-year age groups. Participants must live in a sponsoring jurisdiction, which include the counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Fauquier, Loudoun and Prince William and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church.
