The future is now. But only until the end of the month.

The Arlington County government will wrap up its “Postcards from the Future” initiative on Sept. 30, having received more than 1,100 responses so far.

“We’re getting some clear themes that are beginning to come up,” said County Board Chairman Libby Garvey, who as part of her final year in office has promoted the concept of planning for 2050.

In addition to returning filled-in postcards – either physically or digitally – the public through the end of September can leave a voicemail at (571) 400-2970 to share ideas with the county government.

The results will be collated and likely will be used to help develop long-range plans for the county government.
