Police: After threatening employee, suspect arrested for robbery

On April 18 at 4:22 p.m., an individual became involved in a dispute with an employee in the 400 block of 23rd Street South regarding payment, during which the customer implied he had a weapon before leaving the business, Arlington police said.

According to police, the suspect then returned to the business, stole a beverage and threw it against a window, police said.

Investigating officers determined that the same suspect had entered a nearby business earlier in the day after previously being banned there.

The suspect – 33-year-old Charles Middleton of Bowie – was arrested and charged with robbery, trespassing and drunk-in-public. He was held without bond.

•• On April 19 at 7:30 a.m., an individual entered a business in the 1600 block of Wilson Boulevard and began selecting merchandise, but began making threatening statements to an employee, Arlington police said.

The suspect then exited the store without paying for items.

Officers obtained a warrant for the suspect, and later took him into custody.

The suspect – 32-year-old Ismail Offord of Upper Marlboro – was arrested and charged with robbery. He was held without bond.
