Dominion Stage will close out its 73rd season with a production of the rock musical “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” running for three weekends beginning April 21 at Gunston Arts Center Theatre II, 2700 South Lang St.

The production tells the tale of an East German rock-and-roll goddess who also has been the victim of a botched sex-change operation. The musical opened Off-Broadway in 1998, winning the Obie and Outer Critics Circle awards for best music, and was first mounted on Broadway in 2014, winning four Tony Awards.

The show contains adult content and subject matter, and is not recommended for those under the age of 17. There also will be limited-availability cabaret seating stage-side at tables, with guaranteed interaction with the cast plus a special package of concessions and “mystery swag,” for $35.
