SHOOTING:

• A Sept. 15 shooting in Rosslyn that sent a victim to the hospital does not appear to be a random event, Arlington police said.

At approximately 6:14 a.m., police were dispatched to the 800 block of N. Glebe Road for the report of an assault with a weapon. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound and began providing aid. He was transported by medics to an area hospital and is reported in stable condition.

The preliminary investigation indicates the victim and another male exited a vehicle and were walking toward a business when four suspects approached, brandished firearms and demanded their property. The suspects then stole jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash. 

During the course of the incident, the suspects discharged several rounds, striking the victim and causing property damage to two businesses and a residence. The suspects, described as four black males wearing all-black clothing and face coverings, fled the scene in a dark-colored sedan.

This remains an active criminal investigation and, and based on the preliminary investigation, does not appear to be a random incident, police said.

SHOTS FIRED:

• On Sept. 9 at 3:42 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Columbia Pike and South Walter Reed Drive for a report of shots heard, Arlington police said.

Responding officers recovered evidence confirming shots had been fired in the area and canvassed the area for the suspects, yielding negative results, police said.

The preliminary investigation indicates a group of approximately six to eight individuals were engaged in a physical altercation before the shooting, police said. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a white shirt.

CARJACKING:

• On Sept. 9 at 11:19 p.m., a man was returning to his vehicle in a parking garage in the 2500 block of 9th Road South when a man approached, brandished a firearm, struck the victim with the firearm and demanded the victim’s car keys, Arlington police said.

The suspect then fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, described as a Gray Kia Niro with Virginia plates, police said.

The victim sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention, police said. The suspect is described as a black male wearing all black.

ROBBERY:

• On Sept. 6 at 8:49 p.m., a man was walking in the 2100 block of 15th Street North when he was approached by another man who engaged him in conversation, Arlington police said.

During the interaction, a verbal dispute began and the victim attempted to keep walking, police said.

The suspect approached the victim from behind and struck him, resulting in a laceration, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash before boarding a bus and fleeing the scene, police said.

The victim sustained minor injuries but declined medical attention, police said.

The suspect is described as a male, 5’7” or 5’8”, with a medium build and black curly hair, wearing a white tank top and black shorts.

• On Sept. 8 at 10:41 p.m., a man was walking to his parked car in the 200 block of North George Mason Drive when a man approached, brandished a firearm and demanded his personal belongings, Arlington police said.

The suspect then stole the victim’s keys and phone before fleeing the scene on foot, police said. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’9”, with a thin to medium build, short black hair and beard. He was wearing a face covering.

• On Sept. 10 at 12:21 a.m., six vehicles pulled up to a business in the 1800 block of Wilson Boulevard and approximately 12 individuals exited, Arlington police said.

The suspects stole merchandise from outside the building, police said. An employee then confronted the suspects during which they began throwing merchandise, striking him, before fleeing the scene, police said.

Medics responded and evaluated and released the employee on scene.

The suspects are described as black males and females in their early 20s, wearing all dark clothing. The investigation is ongoing.

BRANDISHING:

• On Sept. 9 at 2:44 a.m., a woman was standing at the intersection of Washington Boulevard at North Hudson Street when a vehicle pulled up and the occupants engaged her in conversation, Arlington police said.

During the discussion, the driver of the vehicle referenced having a firearm, police said.

The victim then ran to Clarendon Boulevard at Washington Boulevard and was standing with a man when the driver pulled alongside them and brandished a firearm before driving away, police said. During the investigation, officers identified the driver and obtained warrants for his arrest.

VEHICLE THEFT:

• On Sept. 9, Arlington police reported that, a day earlier, a black 2017 Hyundai Elantra with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the 4800 block of 30th Street South and a black 2012 Yamaha YFZ motorcycle was reported stolen from the 2000 block of North Adams Street.

• On Sept. 9, Arlington police reported that, on Sept. 6, a brown 2014 Honda Civic with North Carolina plates was stolen from the 1000 block of 21st Street South and a gold 2017 Kawasaki ZX motorcycle with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the 1900 block of Columbia Pike, and on Sept. 9, a gray 2012 Hyundai Sonata with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the 6000 block of 9th Road North.

• Sometime between Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. and Sept. 10 at 7:33 a.m., a suspect or suspects entered the garage of a home in the 3100 block of North Quincy Street and stole a 2015 Acura TLX with Michigan license plates and a 2023 Ford Explorer with Virginia license plates.

• On Sept. 10, Arlington police reported that, on Sept. 6, a brown 2014 Honda Civic with North Carolina plates was reported stolen from the 1000 block of 21st Street South and a gold 2017 Kawasaki ZI with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the 1900 block of Columbia Pike, and on Sept. 9, a gray Hyundai Sonata with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the 6000 block of 9th Road North.

• On Sept. 11, Arlington police reported that, a day early a black 2000 Honda CRV with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the 5600 block of 7th Road South.

• On Sept. 11 at 2:55 a.m., three suspects forced entry to a business in the 2800 block of Washington Boulevard, rummaged through the interior and stole four vehicles from the business’s parking lot, Arlington police said.

The stolen vehicles were a white 2015 Nissan Altima, black 2017 Infiniti QX60, white 2017 Infiniti QX30 and white 2012 Infiniti M37x.

The suspects are described as three slim-build individuals wearing dark clothing and face coverings.

• On Sept. 13, Arlington police reported that, a day before, a blue 2013 Hyundai Elantra with Connecticut plates was reported stolen from the 2500 block of South Adams Street.

LARCENY FROM AUTO:

• Sometime between Sept. 11 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 11 at 8 a.m., a suspect or suspects stole tires and rims from two vehicles in a parking garage in the 900 block of South Orme Street

No other damage was reported. There is no suspect description(s).

BURGLARY/UNLAWFUL ENTRY:

• Sometime between Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. and Sept. 6 at 10 a.m., a suspect or suspects entered a secure room of a residential building in the 1500 block of South George Mason Drive, entered multiple storage area, rummaged through the interior and caused property damage, Arlington police said.

No items were reported stolen, police said.

• On Sept. 6 at 2:58 p.m., a man forced entry to a vacant home in the 200 block of North Thomas Street and caused property damage, Arlington police said.

The suspect fled when the homeowner arrived on scene.

The suspect is described as a black mail, 20 to 30 years old, wearing a green shirt, khaki pants and a bandana.

• On Sept. 10 at 6:27 p.m., a man allegedly forced entry into a vacant unit at a residential building in the 1800 block of North Quinn Street, Arlington police said.

Responding officers established a perimeter, searched the apartment, located the suspect and detained him without incident.

The suspect – 29-year-old Naomi Spruill of no fixed address – was arrested and charged with unlawful entry. He was held without bond.

• On Sept. 11, a man was inside his home in the 1600 block of South Eads Street when another man illegally entered the home, Arlington police said.

Another occupant of the home confronted the suspect, who subsequently exited the residence, police said.

Responding officers conducted a canvass of the area for the suspect, yielding negative results.

The suspect is described as black male, 5’5” to 5’7”, heavy-set, wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.
