ARREST MADE IN SHOOTING INCIDENT:

• On Sept. 2 at 1:56 p.m., officers responded to multiple reports of gunshots heard in the area of the 1200 block of South Ross Street, Arlington police said.

According to police, two groups became involved in a verbal dispute, during which suspects from each group brandished and discharged firearms.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, police said.

One group fled the scene in a vehicle, police said. The other group ran from the scene and responding officers located and detained them in the 1300 block of South Scott Street, police said. During the course of the investigation, a firearm was recovered.

A suspect – 26-year-old Patrick Nya of no fixed address – was arrested and charged with reckless handling of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and attempted shooting missiles at an occupied vehicle.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING:

• On Sept. 1 at 1:06 a.m., a verbal dispute between two groups of individuals in the 4200 block of Wilson Boulevard escalated into a physical altercation, Arlington police said.

Responding officers observed individuals entering a car, approached it and attempted to detain the occupants as part of the ongoing investigation. The occupants were non-compliant and the suspect vehicle fled the scene, police said.

Officers conducted a search of the area for the suspects, yielding negative results, police said.

A male victim and female victim sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening; the male was transported to an area hospital.

The first suspect is described as a black male, 30 years old, with facial hair. The second suspect is described as a light-skinned black male with facial hair.

• On Sept. 4 at 10:12 p.m., two men known to each other were inside a home in the 1300 block of North Pierce Street when a verbal dispute escalated into a physical confrontation, Arlington police said.

One of the men allegedly punched the other, causing him to fall, police said. The second man then grabbed a baton and struck the first, police said.

Responding officers located the suspects on scene and took them into custody. Both suspects sustained injuries described as serious but non-life-threatening and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The suspects – 59-year-old Jack Saunders and 57-year-old Richard Ferguson, each of Arlington – were arrested, charged with malicious wounding and were held without bond.

• On Sept. 8 at 4:18 a.m., a man and a woman known to each other were inside a building in the 2000 block of Richmond Highway when they became involved in a verbal dispute, Arlington police said.

The incident escalated, and the male suspect allegedly assaulted the victim, brandished a firearm and made threatening statements, police said.

The suspect then stole the victim’s phone and prevented her from leaving a room, police said.

The victim subsequently was able to leave the room and seek assistance. Outside the building, the victim attempted to retrieve her phone from the suspect. He allegedly hit her, causing a laceration, police said. 

The suspect then fled the scene on foot. 

A lookout was broadcast and responding officers located and detained the suspect in the 2200 block of South Eads Street. The suspect – 39-year-old Aaron Worrell of Portsmouth – was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, robbery, abduction, brandishing, use of a firearm during commission of a felony and possession of a firearm.

The victim sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening and did not require medical attention, police said. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.

• On Sept. 8 at 9:27 p.m., a man was sitting on a bench in the 900 block of North Stafford Street when a man stole his bag and fled the scene on a bike, Arlington police said.

The victim subsequently located the suspect in the area of North Stafford Street and North Fairfax Drive, and they became involved in a physical altercation during which the male suspect struck the victim with a sharp object before fleeing the scene on foot, police said.

The victim sustained injuries described as non-life-threatening and was treated and released by medics on the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male, 40 to 50 years old, 6 feet tall, with a beard and wearing a black jacket.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE/WEAPONS CHARGES:

• On Aug. 31 at 8:04 a.m., patrol officers located a parked and unoccupied vehicle in the area of 13th Street North at North Courthouse Road that had been reported stolen, Arlington police said.

Further investigation revealed the vehicle was also linked to an armed robbery in another jurisdiction, police said.

Six subjects – four adults and two juveniles – approached the vehicle and were subsequently detained. A stolen firearm was recovered from one of them.

The first suspect – 20-year-old Juma Adams of the District of Columbia – was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a concealed weapon and altering the serial number of a firearm.

The second suspect – 20-year-old Jacori Williams of the District of Columbia – was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A minor was charged with marijuana possession.

ASSAULT-AND-BATTERY:

• On Sept. 7 at 9:46 p.m., a woman was walking in the area of Columbia Pike at South Jefferson Street when a man allegedly exposed himself, Arlington police said.

The suspect then threatened to harm a second victim walking in the area, police said.

Responding officers located the suspect on scene and took him into custody. The suspect – 49-year-old Marlon Young of Arlington – was arrested and charged with assault-and-battery, indecent exposure and drunk in public.

ROBBERY:

• On Aug. 30 at 1:20 p.m., a man entered a business in the 900 block of Army Navy Drive, allegedly concealed merchandise and exited the store without payment, Arlington police said.

An employee confronted the suspect outside the business, during which the suspect struck them before fleeing the scene on foot, police said.

No injuries were reported.

A lookout was broadcast, and a responding officer located an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area and took him into custody, police said.

The suspect – 31-year-old Anthony Lamons of no fixed address – was charged with robbery and was held without bond.

• On Aug. 30 at 11 p.m., a woman was in the area of North Glebe Road at Pershing Drive when a woman who is known to her approached, shoved her to the ground and grabbed her backpack, Arlington police said.

The suspect then stole the contents of the victim’s backpack before boarding a bus and fleeing the scene, police said.

No injuries were reported.

• On Aug. 31 at 7:40 p.m., a man was walking in the area of North Irving Street and 12th Street North when he was approached from behind by three men, Arlington police said.

The suspects demanded cash and threatened the victim by placing an object, possibly a firearm, against his back, police said.  The suspects then stole cash from the victim before fleeing the scene on foot.

No injuries were reported, and there are no suspect descriptions.

• On Aug. 31 at 9:51 p.m., a man entered a business in the 200 block of North Glebe Road and asked an employee to view merchandise, Arlington police said.

The suspect then grabbed the merchandise from the employee, exited the store without payment and fled the scene on foot, police said.

The suspect is described as an Hispanic male, approximately 5’0”, heavyset, wearing a white hoodie and blue pants.

• On Sept. 1 at 3:33 p.m., three teens entered a store in the 1100 block of South Hayes Street, Arlington police said.

While in the store, one of the suspects deployed a fire extinguisher while the other two smashed a glass display case with hammers, police said. The suspects fled with jewelry.

No injuries were reported, police said.

The suspects are described as black males, 16 to 18 years old, 5’7”, with thin builds, wearing black clothing.

• On Sept. 5 at 9:04 a.m., two men entered a business in the 2300 block of 2nd Street South, went behind the counter and stole two cashboxes from registers, Arlington police said.

During the incident, an employee was shoved, police said, but there were no injuries reported.

The suspects then exited the business and entered a red sedan driven by a female suspect and fled the scene.

Suspects are described as two black males and one black female, in their late teens or early 20s, wearing black clothing and ski masks.

• On Sept. 5 at 12:50 p.m., a man was inside his parked vehicle in the 2400 block of Richmond Highway when a black sedan pulled in front, Arlington police said.

Two suspects exited the vehicle, brandished firearms and forced the victim from his vehicle, police said.

The suspects stole the victim’s jewelry and entered his vehicle before re-entering the suspect vehicle, driven by a third suspect, and fleeing the scene.

The victim sustained minor injuries, police said. Medics evaluated and released him on scene.

Suspects are described as three black males wearing all black clothing and ski masks.

INDECENT EXPOSURE:

• On Aug. 31 at 3:02 a.m., a man allegedly approached a woman at a bus stop at North Randolph Street and Fairfax Drive and exposed himself, Arlington police said.

Responding officers located the suspect at the scene and he was detained, police said.

The suspect – 37-year-old Devin Hoerauf of no fixed address – was arrested and charged with indecent exposure (three or more offenses in 10 years) and public masturbation.

• On Sept. 4 at 11:09 p.m., a witness reported seeing a man inside a business in the 3100 block of Columbia Pike exposing himself, Arlington police said.

When the suspect was confronted, he ran from the scene, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male. The investigation is ongoing.

VEHICLE TAMPERING:

• On Sept. 2 at 10:21 a.m., a witness in the 1200 block of South Frederick Street allegedly observed a man attempting to enter the door of a parked vehicle, Arlington police said.

Responding officers located the suspect and detained him, police said. During a search incident to arrest, burglarious tools were recovered, they said.

Police said the suspect was non-compliant and refused to identify himself during the investigation. He later was identified.

The suspect – 35-year-old Wilson Jordan Quiroga of Springfield – was arrested and charged with vehicle tampering, obstruction of justice and possession of burglarious tools.

The suspect also was determined to be wanted by other jurisdictions, police said.

• On Sept. 4 at 1:20 a.m., a man rummaged through the interior of a vehicle and forced entry into two additional vehicles in the 4200 block of South Four Mile Run Drive, Arlington police said.

The suspect, described as a black male with a thin build, then entered a black sedan driven by another person and fled the scene.

STOLEN VEHICLE:

• On Sept. 3, Arlington police reported that, on Aug. 30, a white 2018 Nissan Maxima with Virginia plates had been reported stolen from the 2600 block of South Veitch Street.

• On Sept. 4, Arlington police reported that, a day before, a black 2017 Dodge Ram with Virginia plates had been reported stolen from the 2700 block of South Adams Street.

• Arlington police on Sept. 4 reported that, a day before, a black 2022 Hyundai Sonata with Virginia plates had been reported stolen from the 3800 block of South Four Mile Run Drive.

• On Sept. 5, Arlington police reported that, on Sept. 5, a black 2024 Acura MDX with Virginia plates had been reported stolen from the 700 block of North Barton Street.

BURGLARY/UNLAWFUL ENTRY:

• On Aug. 31 at 8:14 p.m., a man attempted to force entry to an unoccupied residence in the 3200 block of South Utah Street before fleeing the scene, Arlington police said.

Responding officers established a perimeter and conducted a search of the area for the suspect, yielding negative results.

The suspect is described as white male, in his 30s, with a thin building and wearing a black hat.
