Charges filed in robbery, assault-and-battery incident

Suspect confronted woman twice, stole her phone, assaulted her

• On July 23 at 9:45 a.m., a woman was inside a residential building in the 300 block of North George Mason Drive when a man known to her entered and engaged her in conversation, Arlington police said.

The suspect subsequently assaulted the victim, stole her personal belongings and exited the building, police said.

The victim then confronted the suspect outside, and the suspect stole the victim’s phone and threw it on the ground, causing damage, before fleeing the scene in a white sedan, police said.

No injuries were reported.

During the investigation, officers identified the suspect and obtained warrants for robbery, assault-and-battery and destruction of property. The investigation is ongoing.
