Arlington police on the hunt in trio of burglaries

The Arlington County Police Department is hunting down suspects in a number of recent local burglaries.

• On July 15 at 12:30 a.m., a man attempted to gain entry into a secured parking garage in the 2100 block of North Westmoreland Street, Arlington police said.

After being unable to gain entry, the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male, 16 to 20 years old, 5’5” to 5’7”, with a thin build.

• On July 15 at 2:48 a.m., a woman was inside her apartment in the 3400 block of Columbia Pike when she heard the door open.

The victim yelled and the suspect, a male, left the apartment, leaving personal property behind.

• On July 15 at 8:45 a.m., a man forced entry into a secure residential parking garage in the 2100 block of North Westmoreland Street, Arlington police said.

When verbally confronted by employees, the suspect fled the scene on foot, police said. No property damage was reported.

The suspect is described as a black male.
