Arlington’s springtime political-debate season came to an end June 6 as the Arlington Chamber of Commerce hosted its County Board candidate forum.

All candidates on the ballot – either in the June 18 Democratic primary or the Nov. 5 general election – were invited to participate at the event, hosted by VHC Health and sponsored by Arlington Land Use Group.

“This event marked the 10th consecutive year that the Chamber has hosted a business-themed candidate forum,” Chamber officials said. “This year, candidates discussed important policy issues, including housing, transportation, business regulations and the commercial-office-vacancy rate.”

Candidates also described their “visions” for the county in 2050.

Participating were Democrats James DeVita, Julie Farnam, Tenley Peterson, Natalie Roy and J.D. Spain Sr. and independent Audrey Clement. Other candidates may emerge before the June 18 filing deadline.
