About one in 12 home-sellers across Arlington and Fairfax counties agreed to cut their asking price during the week ending June 2, a figure that has bumped up (significantly, in the case of Arlington) compared to a year before.

In Arlington, the 8.5-percent rate of sellers cutting their listing price was up from 7.1 percent a week before and well above the rate of 4.4 percent from a year ago, according to figures reported by Bright MLS, the region’s multiple-listing service.

In Fairfax County, the rate of 8.3 percent was down from 9 percent a week before, but was up from 7 percent a year ago.

In the D.C. region as a whole, 8.3 percent of home-sellers cut their prices during the week. That was up from 7.3 percent both a week and a year before.
