Home-sellers across the Washington region continue to hold (relatively) firm in their asking prices, according to new data.
For the week ending May 26, 7.2 percent of sellers authorized a cut in listing prices, according to figures reported by Bright MLS, the region’s multiple-listing service.
That’s the first time in six weeks that the rate for the region overall has been below 8 percent.
But the percentage varied widely by jurisdiction, particularly across Northern Virginia. In Alexandria, it was 10.1 percent; in Loudoun County, 9.5 percent; in Fairfax County, 9 percent; and in Arlington, 7.1 percent.
Prince William County, which is included in north-central Virginia data rather than in the Washington metro area, stood at 8.6 percent.
