Arlington students score success at National History Bowl

Three Arlington students scored success in the 2024 National History Bowl & Bee Championship, held in Arlington April 25-28.

> Competing in the Varsity Division (11th and 12th grades), Aaron Rafael Zevin-Lopez, a junior at Washington-Liberty High School, finished 13th in the nation and first in Virginia in the National Political Science Bee, making it to the semifinal round of the competition; 21st in the nation and first in Virginia in the National Recent History Exam; 55th in the nation and fourth in Virginia in the U.S. History Bee; 82nd in the nation and second in Virginia in the National History Bee;  66th in the nation and fifth in Virginia in the U.S. Geography Championships; and 119th in the nation and ninth in Virginia in the National Geography Bee.

> Competing in the Varsity Division, Isaac Studley, a senior at the H-B Woodlawn Secondary Program, finished 13th in the nation and first in Virginia in the National Historical Geography Exam; 27th in the nation and second in Virginia in the National Political Science Bee; and 71st in the nation and eighth in Virginia in the National Geography Bee.

> Competing in the Varsity Division, Benjamin Thernstrom, a senior at Washington-Liberty High School, finished 47th in the nation and third in Virginia in the U.S. History Bee.
